Every year September 14 is celebrated as Hindi Divas across India. In the year 1949, the constituent assembly of India adopted Hindi as the official language of the republic of India and since then, it is celebrated as Hindi Diwas every year. The staff and the students of St. Agnes CBSE school Bendoor, Mangalore celebrated Hindi Diwas on 14th September 2020, in a unique way as a mark of acknowledgement of Hindi as the National language. The celebration began with the prayer service lead by the teachers. The Principal Sr. Maria Gracilda AC inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp.

As part of the flow of programme Mrs. Sumithra speaking on the occasion, emphasized that we should be proud of our national language and should learn to speak in public domain without hesitation. Enthusiastic students of St Agnes CBSE school participated virtually in this programme and contributed through various ways to make the day remarkable one. Anika (grade X) spoke about the significance of the day, followed by a beautiful presentation of slogans on Hindi language in form of flash cards (grade VI). The students of grade VII depicted various saints like Kabeer, Meerabai, Raheem etc… and recited their couplets (Doha). The students of grade VIII portrayed the famous Hindi authors and poets by narrating their biography through short video presentation. The students of grade X danced according to the tune of the song sung by the students of grade IX.

The programme concluded with a beautiful message “मन की भाषा प्रेम की भाषा हिंदी है जन-जन की भाषा”
